Four days ago on June 14, Elon Musk posted the following on X:
The far left is murderously violent
His post was in response to another post on X by username @insatiablevine which also made the same claim.
Both of the posts were in response to the recent assassination of Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman.
Musk's Grok AI Chatbot responded to his post by stating "The claims lack evidence linking them to 'the left' as a group."
Today, X username @GrokChecker posed the following question to Grok:
@grok since 2016, has the left or right been more violent?
Grok responded:
Since 2016, data suggests right-wing political violence has been more frequent and deadly, with incidents like the January 6 Capitol riot and mass shootings (e.g., El Paso 2019) causing significant fatalities.
Musk responded:
Major fail, as this is objectively false. Grok is parroting legacy media. Working on it.

Commentary:
The basic, foundational idea behind AI (artificial intelligence) is to take large amounts of raw unfiltered information, analyze it, summarize it, and draw some conclusions.
In order for AI to be a truly useful and legitimate tool, it must be free from political ideology, confirmation bias, and anything else that might skew it's analysis.
All I can say about Musk's "major fail," "objectively false," "parroting legacy media" claim is WOW, this guy really is insane!
Musk says he is "working on it," meaning he's going to change the Grok software and tweak how it processes information so it produces results that aligns with Musk's political beliefs.
I suggest you take a good long think about what he is saying.
Musk wants to change the foundational structure of his own AI chatbot so it's more "user-friendly" to him and his MAGA sycophants. If he follows through, this will be just the start of many future software tweaks that Musk will make, claiming all along that they are making Grok more accurate and more objective.
In reality, all Musk is doing is creating a right-wing chatbot that will be skewed in favor of current conservative and MAGA ideology.
Actually, what he is doing is not unlike what Donald Trump has been doing since his reelection: attempting to rewrite history according to his warped, delusional, and highly misguided beliefs.
This is another warning sign to America and the world. These people (Trump, Musk, and MAGA) are extremely dangerous to not only American democracy as we know it, but to the concept of objective reality itself (which you can read about in a recent HWR post entitled "Op-Ed | Trump, MAGA, and the Blurring and Rejection of Objective Reality".
