On December 19, 2024 I posted an article on HWR entitled "Op-Ed | America Needs a Liberal Alternative to Fox News"
In that article I posted a short list of conservative media outlets (in addition to Fox News) that included OAN, Newsmax, RSBN, The Western Journal, and The Arizona Sun Times.
Add to that list the "Truth+ TV" streaming service which was launched by the Trump Media & Technology Group in mid-October, 2024.
Yesterday, an article written by journalist Nick Harding entitled "I spent a day watching Trump's Truth TV - I'll never criticise the BBC again" was published on The i Paper website.
The The i Paper is a British national newspaper published in London by the Daily Mail and General Trust.
The subtitle of Harding's article reads:
The President's 'non-woke' streaming service is a diatribe of unchecked gobbledygook - and oddly fascinating
Here's some of what Harding says in his article:
American Sunrise is its morning offering. It is GMB [Good Morning America] in the Upside Down, where the spectral orange puppet master of Donald Trump looms ominously over everything.
"Legacy media is going extinct, and we want to speed up the process," proclaims the PR blurb. Truth+ offers a refuge from "woke Hollywood entertainment and slanted news broadcasts", providing "non-woke TV shows and movies" and "unbiased news channels that provide information, not propaganda". Which, in depressingly obvious Orwellian double-speak, is exactly what it is. There is no balance, no fact-checking, just one-sided Trumpian hero worship. A personality cult full of strange sycophants playing at journalism while blowing smoke up the supreme leader's flabby arse. Like a turbocharged GB News with the bigot spigot turned to full, it should be called Truth Minus.
And this is a pattern that becomes more evident. These people – their mouths move but they say nothing. Often, it's gobbledygook. They are not journalists, they do not have the professionalism, the contacts, the training or the resources to provide proper fact-based news. All you get is filler. Occasionally a guest pops up to parrot a line, but there's no debate. The presenters are podcasters, sitting in their home studios, guffing out dog whistles to rousing patriot standards and stock footage.
Thankfully the checks and balances we have on the media in the UK, such as Ofcom and IPSO (despite their faults), mean that this kind of bias and disinformation would struggle to make any inroads into the public consciousness here, whereas in Trump's America, Maga supporters can mainline it straight into their veins, uncut with balance, and with the Commander in Chief playing the part of the pusher.
Harding ends his article by saying (bold added for emphasis):
I've worked in journalism for almost 30 years and, hand on heart, can say that apart from a tiny number of bad actors, the one value that unites all the trained professionals I've worked with is a respect for accuracy and the truth which borders on reverence. On Truth+ accuracy, objectivity and the inconvenient truth are not only treated with derision, they are the enemy.

Commentary:
I wasn't aware of Truth+ TV until I read Nick Harding's article. So, you can just add another source of one-sided brain-washing to the ever-growing list.
Harding says, "whereas in Trump's America, Maga supporters can mainline it straight into their veins, uncut with balance, and with the Commander in Chief playing the part of the pusher."
Two points here...
One, the part about "mainline it straight into their veins."
Two, that Trump is "the pusher."
On November 14, 2024, TMTG published a press release that states:
Trump Media & Technology Group (Nasdaq: DJT) ("TMTG" or the "Company"), operator of the social media platform Truth Social, is announcing today that it has completed the initial deployment of its cross-country network of data centers that power its custom-built content delivery network ("CDN"), and all planned data centers are now fully operational.
Truth+ is currently available on the Web, through native apps for Android and iOS devices, and through connected TV apps for Amazon Fire, Android, and Apple television sets. The platform includes features such as video on demand, live TV rewind with visual thumbnails, catch-up TV for up to seven days, network DVR, and a Spanish language interface option.

Think about it...
The current president of the United States has his very own media group (TMTG), that until just recently he and his family had a majority stock ownership in, that pumps out right-wing propaganda 24/7/365 to the media device of your choice.
Never in the history of our country has any one individual had so much power and influence over media.
And now, with Truth+ TV fully operational, right-wing propaganda is in fact being "mainlined" directly into devices of all types.
And all of this is coming from "the pusher" Donald Trump, because he is the one who founded TMTG.
This is more than a "full-court press" against legacy media - this is outright warfare of the highest degree.
Why aren't Democrats countering?
Where is the liberal person, or the group of liberal people willing to stand up and fight fire with fire?
My HWR article entitled "Op-Ed | America Needs a Liberal Alternative to Fox News" says it loud and clear.
Messaging is everything in politics.
If Democrats and liberals want even a ghost of a chance to save our country from Trump and MAGA they better get their act together...and fast!
