U.S. Department of Homeland Security Issues Press Release Calling for "Media and Far Left to Stop the Demonization of President Trump"

On September 17, 2025, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a press release entitled "DHS Calls for Media and Far Left to Stop the Demonization of President Trump, His Supporters, and DHS Law Enforcement."

Here's what the press release says:

This hateful rhetoric is contributing to political violence in our country and a more than 1000% increase in assaults against our brave ICE law enforcement

WASHINGTON – Following the evil act of political violence witnessed in the country last week and two attempts to resist arrest resulting in severe injuries of ICE law enforcement officers—one being drug by a car and another hit by a car—DHS is calling on the media, leftist groups, and sanctuary politicians to end their demonizing DHS law enforcement. This hateful rhetoric is inspiring political violence in our country and assaults against our brave DHS law enforcement.

"Following the evil act of political violence in the country this week and two brutal assaults on our brave ICE law enforcement last week, we are once again calling on the media and the far left to stop the hateful rhetoric directed at President Trump, those who support him, and our brave DHS law enforcement," said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "This demonization is inspiring violence across the country. Our ICE officers are facing a more than 1000% increase in assaults against them. We have to turn down the temperature before someone else is killed. This violence must end."

Following this verbiage, the press release shows a "non-exhaustive list of violent rhetoric against DHS law enforcement."

Commentary:

I HAVE NEVER BEFORE IN MY LIFE SEEN A MORE PATHETIC AND DISGUSTING EXAMPLE OF HYPOCRISY!

Trump and MAGA have shown us hundreds of examples of hypocrisy, but this one takes the cake!

The two key phrases that stand out in the press release are "demonization" and "hateful rhetoric."

Who do those two phrases remind you of? Yeah, that's right. The orange-faced clown in the White House.

Trump has spread "hateful rhetoric" and demonized liberals incessantly, non-stop, ad-nauseam ever since he entered politics back in 2015. And during his second term as president his "hateful rhetoric" and "demonization" has become more virulent.

At a "Salute to America" event in Des Moines, Iowa on July 4, 2025, referring to Democrats Trump said "I hate them. I cannot stand them, because I really believe they hate our country, you want to know the truth."

In a March 30, 2023 Truth Social post Trump called Democrats "Thugs and Radical Left Monsters."

These are just two representative examples. There are countless more.

As far as violence is concerned, look what happened on January 6, 2021 when Trump-supporting rioters swarmed the U.S. Capitol. Trump is complicit in what happened that day, and it happened to a great extent because of his "hateful rhetoric," his "demonization," and the fact that he is constantly fanning the flames of division in this country.

How about the attempted kidnapping of Michigan Governor Gretchen Witmer? If you think Trump's "hateful rhetoric" and "demonization" had nothing to do with that, then you are ignoring objective reality.

In the state of Michigan, five of the eight people arrested in relation to the Witmer kidnapping plot were convicted of crimes. Those crimes included "Attempting to Provide Material Support for Terrorism," "Material Support for a Terroristic Act," and "Felony Firearm." Federal charges were filed against six others, four of whom were convicted. Of the four, two were found guilty on federal charges of conspiring to kidnap and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction.

Sounds like violence to me.

And now, with an executive order issued on September 25, 2025 entitled "Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence", Trump is going after "anti-fascism," which is largely perceived as left-wing.

Part of the executive order states:

This "anti-fascist" lie has become the organizing rallying cry used by domestic terrorists to wage a violent assault against democratic institutions, constitutional rights, and fundamental American liberties. Common threads animating this violent conduct include anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States Government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality.

Once again, Trump is vilifying liberals by using labels like "anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity," by calling them extremists, and by claiming they have hostility toward those with traditional American views.

Wow, one thing I will say about Trump is that when it comes to extremes and hyperbole he never disappoints!

Nothing could be further from the truth than to say that those on the left are "anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity." I'm politically independent and liberal, but I am by no means any of those "anti-" words Trump states in his executive order. And the same goes for the overwhelming majority of liberals in this country. Even those on the extreme left don't fit those labels. If you're an "anti-facist" you are pro-Amercian, not anti-American. If you are an "anti-facist" you are trying to preserve democracy and prevent our country from becoming an authoritarian state. Once again, Trump is spreading "hateful rhetoric" and demonizing those on the left.

It's way, way beyond appalling that we've come to a point where Trump and MAGA don't see, or perhaps just don't care, about the sheer and utter hypocrisy of what they say and do.

The message is always, "It's OK if we say or do it, but it's not OK if you say or do it."

The message is, if you (liberals) say or do it, we (conservatives) are going to call you out, vilify you, make a public spectacle out of you, spread "hateful rhetoric" about you, and "demonize" you. If we say or do it, we are justified, but you are not.

What a bunch of B.S.
