On October 14, 2026, Fox News released the results of a poll showing that "Corruption in Government" is voters top concern heading into the November mid-term elections (88% very or extremely concerned). "Inflation and High Prices" is voters' second top concern (85% very or extremely concerned). The poll was conducted October 9-12, 2026.
The poll also shows that Trump's "Job Performance" is at record lows among Republicans (76% disapproval and 23% approval), and about the same for Independents (78% disapproval and 22% approval).
In addition, the poll shows that since the beginning of 2026, voters have been consistent in their choice to vote for Democratic House representatives over Republican, varying by a 5% margin in April to a margin of 9% in October.
Commentary:
This poll is consistent with the polls being reported on Real Clear Politics.
Considering the fact that Republicans have full control of the federal government (White House, House of Representatives, and Senate), for voters to rank government corruption as their top concern should be deeply troubling for Trump and Republicans.
What I find even more interesting, and telling, is that the title of the Fox News article showing the poll results reads "Fox News Poll: Cost-of-living concerns weigh on GOP in midterms." Yes, cost-of-living is right near the top of the list, but government corruption is THE top concern. Government corruption was NOT in the title of the article.
If you're going to report the news fairly and with no partisanship, don't you think that the top concern should appear in the title of the article?
It's painfully obvious that Fox News chose to NOT put the top concern in the title to try and appease Trump. Fox News knew that the poll statistics were bad enough for Trump and Republicans so they tried to "soften" the blow just a bit by not leading with government corruption.
This is no surprise, and it's just another indication (on top of a HUGE and ever-growing pile) of things Fox News has historically reported in favor of Trump.
