Dec 19, 2015:

The chairman of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee said that immigration officials were lax when reviewing Tashfeen Malik's visa application.

Dec 18, 2015:

The deaths of 14 people and wounding of 25 others in the December 2 San Bernardino attack has left the county of San Bernardino with too few health inspectors to do required work. As a result, California Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency in San Bernardino County. The declaration allows state workers to temporarily fill positions until permanent staff can be hired, and it allows the state Office of Emergency Services to provide other assistance to the county as needed.

Dec 17, 2015:

Enrique Marquez, the neighbor of Syed Farook, was arrested and charged with conspiring to provide material support (personnel, firearms, and explosives) to terrorists in 2011 and 2012, with making a false statement in connection with acquisition of firearms, and immigration fraud relating to his marriage to a Russian immigrant. Authorities allege that Marquez and Farook planned to attack Riverside City College and a busy freeway during rush hour.

Dec 12, 2015:

The investigation into the San Bernardino shooting has discovered that Tashfeen Malik talked openly on social media about her views on violent jihad, that she supported it, and that she wanted to be a part of it. Tasheen passed three background checks by U.S. immigration services when she moved to the U.S. from Pakistan. Immigration services, under the jurisdiction of the Department of Homeland Security, does not routinely check social media as part of the immigration approval process.

Two days ago in his speech to Americans about terrorism, President Obama said he asked the Department of Homeland Security to review the K-1 visa program.

Dec 9, 2015:

Speaking to the Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington, D.C., U.S. FBI Director James Comey said that the married couple responsible for the San Bernardino attacks has been radicalized before they started dating online and as early as the end of 2013, before the recent rise of ISIS.

The married couples neighbor, Enrique Marquez, who the FBI has been questioning, said that an attack may have been planned as far back as 2012. Marquez is the man who purchased the assault rifles used in the San Bernardino attacks.

Dec 5, 2015:

The Islamic State said that the married couple killed by police were followers.

In an interview, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson said the United States is now in a new phase of threat by global terrorism where there are "outsourced" attacks requiring a whole new approach and strategy to help prevent.

The FBI is investigating the San Bernardino shooting as a possible "act of terrorism".

Dec 2, 2015:

At least 14 people were killed and 21 injured during a mass shooting at a holiday party for San Bernardino county employees at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California.

Later in the day, police shot and killed two suspects - Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik.
