Pew Research Center Study on Financial Security, Political Views, and Political Behavior

The Pew Research Center is:

...a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. It conducts public opinion polling, demographic research, media content analysis and other empirical social science research.

In the fall of 2014 just before the mid-term elections, Pew Research conducted a random survey of 3,154 adults in the United States. In that survey, Americans were asked questions about their political views, political behavior, and their degree of financial security.

The survey showed that:

Financial security is strongly correlated with nearly every measure of political engagement.
