In an interview with the digital news outlet Semafor, Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn said:
The president seems to revel in chaos, which is so different from any other leader that I've ever seen. I don't know about you, but I like to minimize the chaos in my life. He just seems to revel in it. We've seen even recent evidence of it on the DNI.
Cornyn lost his bid for another term as senator to a Trump-backed opponent in the primary election last month.
Commentary:
First...
Thanks to Cornyn for finally speaking out about Trump. Of course, the only reason he was willing to speak out is because he will not be running in the November general election. Cornyn, like all of the other Republican Trump sycophants in the Senate, know that even one word of dissent about Trump will result in a severe tongue-lashing and political death.
Second...
Cornyn didn't say anything about why he thinks Trump revels in chaos. Since Cornyn is brave enough to speak out now when he knows Trump can no longer hurt him politically, why didn't he say more? He spoke as if he had no clue as to why Trump revels in chaos. Is Cornyn still afraid of Trump, is Cornyn really that stupid, or is he just that naive?
Third...
TRUMP REVELS IN CHAOS BECAUSE IT OBSCURES THE TRUTH.
By "flooding the zone" with executive orders, bogus narratives, incessant posting on Truth Social, and daily attacks on his political opponents, Trump makes it hard for the average person to make sense of it all. It's so much information, coming at you so fast, day after day, week after week, month after month, that the average person can't keep up.
The average person feels overwhelmed, confused, and frustrated, realizing that they just don't know what to believe.
When you don't know what's fact or fiction, you're more likely to be swayed by Trump's gaslighting narratives and his B.S. into believing what he says.
This is exactly what Trump wants.
It's a political strategy, and con-man Trump has employed it to perfection.
The price Trump pays for this is the detrimental effect it has on his integrity, his credibility, and his morality.
All of what I just said about Trump and his chaos should be crystal clear to anyone who hasn't been living in a cave for the past 10 years.
The fact that Cornyn still doesn't have the nerve to really call Trump out on his B.S. is just another sad indication of how far down the Trump "rabbit hole" so many Republican politicians are.
