Craig Spencer, a doctor who has been undergoing treatment for Ebola in New York at Bellevue Hospital, has been declared free of Ebola and will be released from the hospital tomorrow.

Today, health officials in Texas announced that the last Texas Health Presbyterian hospital worker being monitored for symptoms of Ebola was no longer at risk, ending the outbreak which began when Thomas Duncan was diagnosed with Ebola on September 30. A total of 177 people in Texas had been monitored after having contact with one of the three people diagnosed with Ebola in Texas.

Yesterday, a judge in Maine issued a temporary order stating that Kaci Hickox must keep her distance from crowds and public transportation. Today, that same judge softened the order and said that Kaci is free to move about freely as long as she is monitored for symptoms and keeps health officials posted on her whereabouts.

Amber Vinson, the second Dallas nurse to contract Ebola, has been declared free of the Ebola virus and will be discharged from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Today, the U.S. Army stated it will quarantine all soldiers returning from Liberia for 21 days.

Today, the CDC released an updated guide (fact sheet) for monitoring Ebola symptoms and the movement of people who may have been exposed to the virus. Among other things, the guide introduces four different risk levels based on degree of exposure.

Thirteen days after testing positive for Ebola, Nina Pham, the first person to contract Ebola in the U.S., is declared free of the virus.

Today, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie declared a mandatory 21-day quarantine for doctors and health care workers who have treated Ebola patients in West Africa when they return to the U.S. and enter the states of New Jersey or New York. In addition, the governors also stated there would be more screening protocols for Ebola at both JFK and Newark airports.

Starting Monday, October 27, travelers from Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea will be required to check in daily with U.S. Health officials for three weeks, even if they show no symptoms of Ebola. Initially, only the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Georgia will be affected, but eventually all 50 U.S. states will be part of the program.

Also, all travelers from Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea will be required to land at one of five major U.S. airports (JFK, Newark, Washington-Dulles, Chicago-O'Hare, and Atlanta).

Today is the 21st day of quarantine for Thomas Eric Duncan's fiancee Louise Troh, her son, and two nephews, none of which have shown symptoms of Ebola.

The U.S. military is putting together a 30-person team consisting of five doctors, 20 nurses, and five trainers. The team will be able to deploy within 72 hours and provide direct treatment for U.S. Ebola patients.

The woman (and her traveling partner) who had been quarantined on a cruise ship have been allowed to disembark at a Galveston, Texas port after remaining symptom-free.

Amber Vinson may have had symptoms of Ebola up to four days earlier than originally thought, and she may have been contagious on a second, earlier flight.

As a precaution, a third Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital worker (and her traveling partner) have been quarantined on a cruise ship in Belize because she may have handled fluid samples from Thomas Eric Duncan.
Frontier airlines is notifying up to 800 passengers which were on the two flights Amber Vinson was on, as well as passengers on five other flights by the plane (which has been taken out of service by Frontier).

A second nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Amber Vinson, contracted Ebola and is also being treated at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. Amber was on a flight from Cleveland to Dallas (Frontier flight 1143) the day before she started showing symptoms of Ebola.
