Hillary Clinton Testifies Before the House Select Committee on Benghazi

Oct 22, 2015:

In Washington, D.C., Hillary Clinton testified before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

Led by committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-South Carolina) who was flanked by Representative Elijah Cummings (D-Maryland), the committee questioned Clinton for 11 hours about the September 11, 2012, attacks in Benghazi, Libya which resulted in the death of U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens.

The general concensus of the testimony is that nothing new of substance was revealed, that Clinton remained cool, calm, and collected for the duration, and that if anything, Clinton's appearance at the hearing only helped her 2016 presidential campaign (some believe that the hearing was a politically-motivated attempt by Republicans to derail Clinton's 2016 presidential bid).
