Olfactory Ensheathing Cell Transplantation Helps Paralyzed Man Walk

Doctors in Poland, in collaboration with scientists in London, have transplanted olfactory cells from a man's nasal cavity into his spinal cord. With the support of a frame, the man is now walking again after being paralyzed from the chest down for almost two years from a knife attack in 2010. In addition to the transplant surgery, the man, Darek Fidyka, has been in an intensive exercise therapy program.
