Yesterday, July 28, 2026, a funeral service was held for Lindsey Graham, the long-time Republican senator from South Carolina.
Trump spoke at the funeral during which he said:
He was extremely hawkish, he never saw a war that he didn't like.
Fox News host Sean Hannity also spoke at the funeral during which he said:
Lindsey, he was often unfairly characterized as a warmonger. I've heard that false criticism a lot. It's not true. The truth is the opposite. Lindsey desperately wanted and talked to the president about a lasting peace in the Middle East.
First, this is one of the rare times I agree with Trump.
Graham was a warmonger. That's not my opinion, it's a fact. Don't believe me? Do some online searches for things Graham has said about violence, military conflicts, and war over the past two decades so you can see for yourself.
Second, just because you talk to someone about "lasting peace" (as Hannity claimed about Graham had) doesn't mean you're not a warmonger.
Hannity's contradiction of Trump shows us all, yet again, how Republicans will lie and gaslight you into believing things that are simply not true. It's just another example of Republican's total disconnect from and denial of objective reality.
Third, it shows us how Republicans can't get their narratives straight, even at the funeral of one of their own.
Fourth, its' worth mentioning that Graham made some very derogatory statements about Trump in the past. A July 13, 2026 article entitled "Here Are Some Of The Most Vicious Things Lindsey Graham Has Said... About Trump" has a short list of things Graham has said in the past about Trump. Here are several examples:

- Feb 17, 2016 on X: "Donald Trump is not a conservative Republican. He's an opportunist. He's not fit to be President of the United States."
- May 3, 2016 on X: "If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it."
Graham's "change of heart" about Trump shows us a) how persuasive Trump is, b) how much of a con-man Trump is, and c) how Republicans have completely lost their way by supporting Trump, choosing to ignore objective reality in pursuit of their radical agenda.
