Comments Made by Paula White-Cain at White House Easter Lunch Spark Backlash on Social Media

On Wednesday April 1, 2026, Donald Trump hosted a private Easter lunch at the White House. In attendance were several Christian leaders, including Trump's personal spiritual advisor Paula White-Cain.

Speaking from a podium, White-Cain said the following:

I felt like I was conveying the heart of God for all of us, that we are thankful for the greatest champion of faith that we've ever seen in a president. And we honor you because of your bold, unwavering conviction and stand for religious liberty, here in America and around the world.

The strength of a nation is through Almighty God...But the truth of it is, you are here because of God and because of you.

Jesus taught so many lessons through His death, burial and resurrection. He showed us great leadership, great transformation requires great sacrifice. And Mr. President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price. It almost cost you your life.

You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It's a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us. But it didn't end there for Him, and it didn't end there for you.

God always had a plan. On the third day, He rose, He defeated evil, He conquered death, Hell and the grave. And because He rose, we all know that we can rise. And, sir, because of His resurrection, you rose up. Because He was victorious, you were victorious.

White-Cain also said she believes the Lord told her to inform Trump that "because of His victory, you will be victorious in all you put your hand to."

Video footage of White-Cain's remarks were posted on YouTube by the White House, but then taken down by the White House.

Commentary:

Paula White-Cain is known for making highly contentious remarks about God and Trump.

In October of 2019, speaking on "The Jim Baker Show" White-Cain said that Trump has been working hard to protect religious freedom in a spiritual war between good and evil that is being waged through the courts and that threatens to outlaw the Bible as hate speech. She also said:

And you're gonna have to make a decision that won't be just held accountable here for how things turn out for you, your children, your grandchildren, but you're gonna have to stand accountable before God one day.

But I can tell you things in certain states they've already passed legislation in states that says the Bible is the book of hate speech.

It is a battle of righteousness and wickedness and it did not start with President Trump. This has been a battle to try to take this nation.

And they want to fight President Trump because of what he's standing for.

Essentially, White-Cain said that if you don't vote for Trump, you, your children, and your grandchildren will all someday have to answer to God. Talk about scare tactics!

This is one of the things that turned me off to traditional religion a very long time ago. When you invoke fear in relation to God, any discerning person recognizes that there is something inherently wrong with whoever or whatever is pushing that belief system.

For the record, I did a Google search to fact-check White-Cain's claim that some states have passed legislation saying that the Bible is "hate speech." I found no such legislation.

In November of 2020, speaking during a streamed prayer service White-Cain called on "angelic reinforcement" from Africa and South America to help Trump win the 2020 presidential election:

I hear a sound of victory, the Lord says it is done. For angels have even been dispatched from Africa right now... In the name of Jesus from South America, they're coming here.

On November 4, 2020, I posted an article entitled "2020 U.S. Presidential Election | Trump's Spiritual Advisor Paula White Says 'Angelic Reinforcement' has been Dispatched to Help Him Win Re-election" on HWR about this.

White-Cain is a religious zealot of the worst kind. She's borderline insane. Anyone who believes the kind of B.S. she spews out is just as insane as White-Cain.

Let me set the record straight.

Trump won in 2016 and again in 2024 because there are way too many stupid, ignorant, misinformed, and fearful people in America. Lying, con-man Trump was able to seduce millions of these people to vote for him. GOD AND ANGELS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!

In her recent remarks at the Easter lunch, White-Cain compares Trump to Jesus Christ, claiming that just like Christ, Trump was "betrayed and arrested and falsely accused."

How has Trump been betrayed?

Yes, he's been arrested, but that was because he was legally indicted.

Falsely accused? Nope, try again. Read about Trump's four criminal proceedings in a PBS/Frontline article entitled "A Guide to the Criminal Cases Against Donald Trump".

Finally, you might wonder why I spent so much time posting about someone who is so far out in right field and obviously bonkers.

I felt compelled to spend this time to remind everyone reading this post that there are many, many more people like White-Cain out there in America who are just as radical and borderline insane as she is. And those people are still ardent supporters of Donald Trump.

All of those people will be voting Republican in the upcoming 2026 mid-term elections.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US WHO CARE DEEPLY ABOUT DEMOCRACY, THE CONSTITUTION, AND THE RULE OF LAW SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF VOTING IN NOVEMBER.

It's up to all of us to see to it that Democrats retake control of the House of Representatives - just another step in the ongoing and relentless resistance to MAGA and Trump.
